Faith Gabelnick was a pioneer in group relations work in the United States. She used her group relations learning to be a transformative leader within the educational system. She died at age 60, shortly after stepping down as the first woman president of Pacific University. Prior to this major role, she had been Assistant Director of the Honors College at University of Maryland, Dean of the Honors College at Western Michigan University, and Provost of Mills College.

Ruthellen Josselson is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at The Fielding Graduate University and was formerly a Professor at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Visiting Professor at Harvard University. She is the author of Playing Pygmalion: How People Create One Another, Revising Herself: The Story of Women's Identity from College to Midlife and other books and professional papers. She received the Henry A. Murray Award and the Theodore R. Sarbin Award from the American Psychological Association.
