Harvard Book Store welcomes the poets of Pizza Pi Press for a celebration of their work. Pizza Pi Press is a local community-oriented press, always trying to amplify the vibrant, urgent, and intersectional. Learn more at pizza314press.org.
This event will include a book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
About the Poets
Elaine Hsiang recently graduated from Brown University and resides in Boston. Her chapbook "one day i will be louder than all the bruises on your knees" was the first Pizza Pi title.
Melissa Lozada-Oliva is a 2015 National Poetry Slam Champion, a Brenda Moosey Video Slam winner, and the author of "Plastic Pájaros" and "rude girl is lonely girl." She's also Pizza Pi's newest editor.
JR Mahung is a Chicago native of belizean heritage. His first chapbook "like waters" was released on Pizza Pi Press in 2016.
Jonathan Mendoza is an activist, spoken word artist, educator and musician. He’s a proud Louder Than A Bomb Massachusetts alumnus and is currently a member of Berklee College of Music's slam team, as well as a 2015 National Poetry Slam Champion with The House Slam. His chapbook "When The Crows Come" is forthcoming on Pizza Pi Press.
Walking from the Harvard Square T station: 2 minutes
As you exit the station, reverse your direction and walk east along Mass. Ave. in front of the Cambridge Savings Bank. Cross Dunster St. and proceed along Mass. Ave for three more blocks. You will pass Au Bon Pain, JP Licks, and TD Bank. Harvard Book Store is located at the corner of Mass. Ave. and Plympton St.
