NANCY RAPPAPORT

discusses

In Her Wake:
A Child Psychiatrist Explores
the Mystery of Her Mother's Suicide

Harvard Book Store is delighted to welcome local psychiatrist NANCY RAPPAPORT for a discussion of In Her Wake: A Child Psychiatrist Explores the Mystery of Her Mother's Suicide.

In her new book In Her Wake, Nancy Rappaport looks inward to explore her mother's suicide, when Nancy was four years old. Through interviews, newspapers, court depositions, her mother's papers and her own memories, Dr. Rappaport seeks to understand her mother's life and her own effort to come to terms with her mother's death.

"A powerful and eloquent book about loss and incomprehension, and a unique journey of learning and reconciliation." —Kay Redfield Jamison (An Unquiet Mind)

"Rappaport weaves a stunning narrative of perspective, profound sadness and unrelenting hope… She has also mapped an inspiring course for anyone to dissect family dynamics and mental illness, hoping to understand and, finally, accept." —Publishers Weekly (starred)
