This book describes how to improve at chess after learning the rules. Covered topics are: visualization, seeing threats, creating threats, reading chess notation, choosing the best move, sharpening tactics, understanding the importance of the center, endgame technique, and developing your own unique playing style. Alex Cherniack is a national master from Massachusetts. He has over 40 years experience playing in chess tournaments against strong opponents, and teaching chess to beginners of all levels.
