Harvard Book Store welcomes bestselling author and influential organizational psychologist ADAM GRANT on tour for his new picture book, The Gift Inside the Box, co-authored with his wife, Allison Sweet Grant. He will be joined in conversation by DANIEL GILBERT, renowned psychologist, bestselling author, and Harvard professor.
Are you a giver or a taker? How about your children? With Give and Take, Grant smashed the “greed is good” myth and revealed how generosity can revolutionize the way we approach work. Now he has teamed up with his wife Allison, a writer and psychiatric nurse practitioner, to bring these innovative ideas into the heart of our homes. In a fireside chat, Adam will share why and how they wrote the book—and what they’ve learned from psychology evidence and personal experience about how we can care for others and ourselves, teach that value to kids, and prepare them to lead lives of meaning.
About The Gift Inside the Box
A mysterious gift box finds himself in search of someone to open him, but nobody seems to be the right one. After disheartening interactions with grabby kids, selfish siblings, and other single-minded would-be recipients, the box wonders if he'll ever find someone deserving of him. Could that someone be the very person who's reading the book itself?
With The Gift Inside the Box, the Grants deliver a clever, earnest book about generosity—a new and nourishing fable for every child's library.
Tickets are available online only at harvard.com and harvardbookstore.eventbrite.com. All tickets include a copy of The Gift Inside the Box. Books bundled with tickets may only be picked up at the venue the night of the event, and cannot be picked up in-store beforehand.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-returnable.
