We know you value local.
We know you make it a point to shop at independent businesses, dine at local restaurants, attend neighborhood events, support community organizations, and champion area artists.
That’s why we’re such good friends.
That’s also why you’re invited to join us this fall for Harvard Book Store’s Warehouse Weekends where local is the name of the game. We’ve asked dozens of our favorite community cohorts to help us celebrate our collective ind(ie)pendence with bargain books, free samples, contests, workshops, and more!
From 10:00 A.M.-6:00 P.M. today, our 6500 sq. ft. warehouse in Somerville will feature astronomy demonstrations, a "Test Your Science (fiction) Knowledge" contest, an award for best costume (fiction and historical figures are fair game) and more. And did we mention our 25,000 used, rare, and remainder books available for your browsing pleasure? And if that weren't enough of an incentive, all science, math, and science fiction used and remainder books are 15% all weekend long!
Meet:
Science on the Street - A division of the hugely popular Cambridge Science Festival, Science on the Street brings. Science. To You. On the Street... er, In the Warehouse. Whatever, it's awesome.
The American Association of Variable Star Observers - What's a variable star, you ask? Find out at AAVSO's booth and come away with not only answers, but also giveaways!
Rhythm 'n Wraps - A gourmet vegetarian wrap food truck that's both healthy AND delicious - now that's innovation!
Complex Life with MIT postdoc Ben Kotrc - Mars, Earth, radiotelescopes and extra solar planets, oh my!
