The evening will feature renowned authors Richard Russo and Lois Lowry, as well as students of 826's afterschool programs, as they tell 1,000 stories in a single night. Last week I mentioned the range of Mother's Day and graduation cards on display at the store. You still have a week to pick out the right card for Mom, so stop by for one of these or any of our many other options.
The end of the academic year is a great time to step back and think critically about the efficacy of our educational institutions. Pick up a copy of My Absurd Vision of Harvard: An Inquiry into Ancestors, Humility, and Occupy (only $3!) in the store to read Peter Winsor Pruyn's ideas for how to help our illustrious neighbor "to strive to be a space that fosters equality, education, and humanity" (from a review of the book).

The volumes here were new original works put out under the Arkham Sampler name in the 1980s. Volume II, No. 4 is devoted to H.P. Lovecraft, whose work inspired the original Arkham Sampler and influenced the content of the magazines.
