This event is free; no tickets are required.
You are cordially invited to Harvard Book Store's magical midnight launch party for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One & Two (Special Rehearsal Edition Script): The Official Script Book of the Original West End Production.
Join us for an exciting evening as we count down to the release of the newest Harry Potter story!
Update for Attendees
Due to the overwhelming number of RSVPs (yay!) we’ve received thus far, please note:
- Space is limited inside the bookstore for party activities and refreshments.
- RSVPing online does not guarantee a spot in the store for the party; admission is first-come, first-served. The line for book pickup will also extend outside, leading up to the midnight release. Those who have pre-ordered may join the line at any time (and we’ll bring the party to you!)
- Quantities of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child are limited. Pre-order now to ensure you’ll be able to pick up your copy at the midnight release. Pre-orders close at 8pm on Saturday, July 30th, while supplies last.
- The order in which you pick up your pre-ordered book will be determined by check-in time that evening. Check-in begins at 10pm at Harvard Book Store’s main entrance.
Thanks for celebrating with us!
We are now collecting RSVPs for the launch party! One lucky witch or wizard who has RSVP'd and pre-ordered a book will be randomly selected to be the very first in line for book pickup at midnight.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is available for pre-order now! Reserve your copy for 20% off today, and pick it up starting at midnight the night of July 30th. Those who pre-order will be the first group to recieve their books. We will be taking pre-orders until 8:00pm July 30th, after which you will still be able to purchase a voucher for your copy of the book upon arrival, while supplies last. Please note that the order in which you are checked in will be the order in which you receive your book. Space will be limited so we recommend arriving early.
Join the Party!
Come dressed up in your House colors, or just as your favorite character for our costume party! We will also be serving up some Harry Potter themed refreshments. And of course, sorting! Want to know what Hogwarts House you belong to, or do you already know? Whether you're a returning Hogwarts student or a first-year looking for their House we'll have a place for you. We'll have fun trivia designed especially for your Hogwarts House!
Stay tuned for more updates on the evening's festivities!
The Sleeping Dragon Theater Co. will be treating us all to a special performance of an original sketch that will catch you up on all the important events of the last seven Harry Potter books!
Can't Wait for the Party?
Neither can we! Twitter users, tweet at us @HarvardBooks with #HPatHBS and a 140-character essay about why you love Harry Potter and you will be entered into a drawing to win a free copy of the special illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone!
About Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
The Eighth Story. Nineteen Years Later.
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
Walking from the Harvard Square T station: 2 minutes
As you exit the station, reverse your direction and walk east along Mass. Ave. in front of the Cambridge Savings Bank. Cross Dunster St. and proceed along Mass. Ave for three more blocks.
