Local Green Delivery

Harvard Book Store is thrilled to offer its super speedy, environmentally responsible, and inexpensive delivery service to the Boston area.

In partnership with MetroPed, “Boston’s human-powered delivery service,” Harvard Book Store will deliver all local orders for as little as $5, six days a week, using emissions-free vehicles. And all in-stock orders placed for Cambridge and parts of Somerville and Allston will receive same- or next-day delivery.

All deliveries for the surrounding Boston area will also be shipped through our Green Delivery Service, with arrival in one to three business days. 

All deliveries cost $5 for the first item, and $1 for each additional item.

 Metro Pedal Power, aka MetroPed (and formerly New Amsterdam Project), is Boston's “human powered delivery service.” An alternative to fossil-fuel based transportation, MetroPed offers healthy, sustainable delivery solutions for small businesses, large corporations, organizations, and universities. “We are replacing internal combustion vehicles with our unique pedal-powered vans to help create stronger, more resilient, and self-reliant local communities.” 

 

In-Store Pickup

Local customers are welcome to pick up their online orders at Harvard Book Store during normal business hours:

Monday - Saturday 9am - 11pm
Sunday 10am - 10pm

Orders may only be picked up after you receive notification that your order has been processed.

Sorry, in-store pickup is not available for University clothing orders.

    

Standard Shipping

$5 for first item, $1 for each additional item, for all shipments within the contiguous U.S.

Automatic "green" bike delivery for local zip codes; 1-3 business days for in-stock items.

All other areas receive standard shipping via UPS Ground / USPS Priority; 2-5 business days for in-stock items.

In-stock items will ship by the next business day.

Your tracking information will be emailed once your order has been shipped.

Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and Puerto Rico, or any expedited shipping within the contiguous U.S. will be quoted on a per-order basis.

Please note that the total shipping cost listed on the automatically-generated invoice will not reflect any requested alternate shipping options. If your shipping cost varies from the standard flat rate, we will contact you for approval before charging your credit card.

All items are shipped ‘no signature required.’ If you would prefer to have your order shipped with signature required on delivery, please indicate this in the Comments field. Additional charges apply.

Saver Shipping

Ship items via USPS Media Mail: $3.50 for the first book, $.50 for each additional item.

Saver shipping is generally 2-7 business days.

Saver Shipping is FREE for orders over $50.

This option is only available for orders within the United States.

Saver shipping does not apply to Harvard University Clothing Orders.

 Request Saver Shipping by making a note in the Comments field of the on-line order form. Please note: your invoice total will not reflect the reduced shipping cost, but you will only be charged for the reduced rate.

Harvard University Clothing Orders

All orders for Harvard University Clothing will be shipped via FedEx Ground, which takes 2-5 business days.

Unless otherwise noted, all clothing is in stock and will ship out the following business day.

FedEx does not deliver to PO boxes.

You will receive your FedEx tracking number via email once your order ships.

Sorry, in-store pickup is not available for University clothing orders.

Combined Book & Harvard Clothing Orders

 In-store items and books ship directly from Harvard Book Store; Harvard University clothing ships from a separate warehouse. Orders including both will incur a $3.50 surcharge, and items will arrive in separate packages. 

International Orders

 Sorry, Harvard Book Store no longer accepts orders originating outside of the United States and Canada. Please feel free to contact weborders@harvard.com with inquiries.
